Running Tip of the Month!

Beat the heat!

Allow about two weeks to acclimate to the heat.  Once acclimated, make sure to take fluids along with you on any run over 90 minutes.  Make sure you take in enough sodium along the way.

THE WOMEN'S TRIPLE CROWN IS A MULTI-RACE SERIES FOR WOMEN TO PROGRESS FROM A 6K RACE TO A HALF MARATHON OR MARATHON

The Charlottesville Spring Classic 5 Mile Road Championship & 4K Walk - March 6th, 2010- Registration coming soon

The Charlottesville Marathon, Half Marathon & 8K Road Championship, Registration coming soon

Rules:

1) Runners must complete three out of four possible races (runners can choose between the Marathon, Half Marathon or 8K on April 17th, 2010).

2) The runner with the fewer amount of points will be the series' winner.  All finishers receive points based on their overall postion amoung other female participants.  The winner will receive 1 point,  second place 2 points, third place 3 points and so on...

3) Points are determined only by the female place finish. (dudes don't count)

4) For the Charlottesville Marathon, Half Marathon and 8K Road Championship, there will be separate Marathon, Half Marathon and 8K categories.

Registration: it is not necessary to register for the Women's Triple Crown.  Completing three races qualifies you for the awards.

Award Levels:

  • Emperial Queen: Overall winner of three races.
  • Queen: Series Winner
  • Finisher: Completing the series
