Running Tip of the Month!

Beat the heat!

Allow about two weeks to acclimate to the heat.  Once acclimated, make sure to take fluids along with you on any run over 90 minutes.  Make sure you take in enough sodium along the way.

  • Location:  Blue Ridge Mountains, VA - Sherando Lake Recreation Area
  • Description:  Great Eastern Endurance Run 100K Relay
  • Teams Sizes:  (2), (3), (4) and (5)
  • Catagories:   All Male, All Female, Mixed (any combination), Masters (everyone on Team must be over 40 on race day), and Collegiate (all members must be a current or former student of the same College/University)

  • Relay Segments/Rules: 
  1. The 100K relay consist of 10 pre-determined legs of lengths varying from 2 miles to 13.5 miles.
  2. Relay Teams will register by "TEAM NAME" and catagory.  Each team member will be required to register individually.
  3. All teams must provide ONE team vehicle to transport runners to transition points where the "bib number belt" are exchanged.
  4. Each team member is required to run at least one leg.
