Running Tip of the Month!

Now is the time to pick up the pace and work on your leg speed. Without heat and humidity, it is much easier to incorporate one weekly tempo workout into your running routine.

Choose speed workouts pertinent to the distance you are training for.  Use the many races available this time of year as training tools: 5Ks are very useful for developing speed.

As you increase the mileage for longer races such as a half marathon or marathon, work on your eating and drinking during the run, since that will be very important during the race. Don't wait until a few weeks before the race to figure out how you will get your energy on race day!
