Exceptional races on exceptional courses
Bad to the Bone Endurance Sports was founded by Gill and Francesca in 2001. Bad to the Bone first event was the Charlottesville Marathon and Half Marathon, finally bringing a nationally recognized destination Marathon to Charlottesville. Ten years later, the Charlottesville Marathon has received national press coverage including:
"One of the best new Marathons in the U.S.A."- Runner's World Magazine. "One of the top destination Marathons in the Country"- The New York Times. "Considered by many as the most scenic marathon course in the East"- Running Times Magazine
All the Bad to the Bone events showcase the natural and historical beauty of the Charlottesville area and the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains, or any other area where the event is being held. Ranging from 5K to 100K, running a Bad to the Bone events is always a unique, enriching and challenging experience, allowing every participant to test their limit while having the best time of their lives. Gill and Francesca always greet every finisher at the finish line, with a smile, great awards and long lasting memories.
